Admissions
Your admission to East Georgia Regional Medical Center will be arranged in advance by your doctor. Your doctor's office will tell you when to arrive at our patient registration department. It is important that you arrive on time, especially if surgery is scheduled for the next morning, so any necessary tests can be completed.
Before you Arrive
- Pre-Certification: Most insurance plans require pre-certification for non-emergency visits to the hospital. It is the patient's responsibility to get pre-certification from the insurance provider.
- What to Bring: You will need only a few personal items such as a bathrobe, slippers, sleepwear and toiletries. The hospital will provide a gown and other items you need. Bring currently prescribed home medications, as well as supplements, i.e. herbals and other over-the-counter medications. Once reviewed by a pharmacist, medications will be returned or stored in the pharmacy until discharge.
- Valuables: We recommend that you do not bring valuables with you. We cannot be responsible for them, so we ask that you leave them at home or have a family member take them when they leave to go home. We are also not responsible for dentures, eye glasses, hearing aids or other personal items of this nature.
