Pediatric Rehabilitation
East Georgia Regional Medical Center’s pediatric rehabilitation program strives to be at the forefront of regional programs by offering physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/language therapy together at the outpatient rehabilitation center in Statesboro. The facility is the only one in the area that currently offers all three disciplines in one convenient location. The therapists specialize in pediatric disorders and offer unique services to personalize care to your child’s needs, including:
- Sensory integration and processing disorders treatment
- Treatment for feeding disorders, supervised by a pediatric dysphagia therapist
- Pediatric certified neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) speech and language pathologist
- AAC (alternative augmentative communication) ordering and programming
- Treatment of various neurodevelopmental delays (cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscle atrophy)
- Wheelchair fittings with on-site vendor
- Orthoses fabrication and fitting as well as training for patients and their families
- Plagiocephaly/torticollis treatments and cranial banding assessments
- Autism spectrum and pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) treatment
- Continual expanded collaboration with a well-established pediatric team to address and train in nearly every complication referred
- Fine motor and gross motor skill development
- Treatment for pediatric language disorders
